Editing blog #2 Choosing the background music


 Today was our second and last day of editing. At the beginning of class everything had been completed execpt choosing the background music and finishing touches. We finished our final Jansport commercial today. While Sophia worked on finishing touches I choose the background music. It was difficult finding the perfect background sound. At first I looked on iMovie since they have sounds that automatically attach to the video, I looked through all the different sound. There was a few that I liked but I decided to look for more on youtube. I looked up 'upbeat background music' and many different videos came up. The first one I clicked on was good but I though it was a little too upbeat. The second one I found was too calming so I kept looking. I looked though many sounds and none of them were perfect. Then I found the perfect one it wasn't too calming and it wasn't too upbeat. I asked my partner, Sophia, what she thought about the sound. Sophia did not like it, she thought it was too happy and upbeat. I had to keep looking because I could not find a sound we both agreed on, I would find a good sound and add it to my video but it would not go with it well. Finally I found a sound that I really liked, I asked Sophia's opinion and she loved it. The sound is called 'upbeat and happy background music' found on Youtube. I added it to the commercial and it looked and sounded great together, Sophia and I both loved it. I asked fellow classmates there opinion and they agreed. Sophia finished up all the last editing making sure it was perfect. We watched the final video and agreed that it was complete, it was a very happy moment for me. Today was productive and I am happy to have completed the Jansport commercial.

Done, done, done!

 So that was the end of the filming. All that's left to do now is edit. I began by trimming our clips to the appropriate length. I listened to the individual who had an opinion. The brightness was adjusted. I tweaked the angles. It took me some time to figure out how to utilize iMovie. As a result, I experimented with several editing programs. I ended up preferring iMovie and went back to my first choice. It was difficult for me to choose music. I also didn't want to utilize music that was protected by copyright. I spent two hours attempting to come up with some suspenseful background music. My group was examining our video as I was editing. I had a feeling my group wouldn't be able to finish editing today. My group viewed a number of editing videos. So far, my favorite aspect of this endeavor has been becoming closer with my group.
