Editing my Jansport Commercial

Today was my first day of editing. I am better at acting so I played the main role in the commercial. Sophia, my partner, has great filming and editing skills so she played the main part today. We used an app called iMovie to edit our commercial. Since all of the filming was done on my phone I decided it made the most sense to edit on my phone too. Sophia did most of the hands on editing while I made suggestions. First, some of the clips needed adjusting, so while Sophia made sure they were the right length, I cropped them to make each scene perfect. All of the clips were also looking a little dull so I decided to add some brightness and a filter to it so it would look happier and brighter. Sophia and I had a difference in opinion on what filter we should use. I thought the super bright one looked better while she liked the one that was a little darker. We settled on one that was in between and it turned out to be the perfect brightness giving a happy effect. Then it was time to put all the clips into iMovie. Once I did that, I realized that we only had 28 seconds but we needed at least 30. I gave the idea that putting one or two of the clips into slower motion would add great effect and give us the extra seconds needed. Two of the clips were put in slow motion which looked good and got the commercial to 31.3 seconds. Next it was time to work on transitions, I decided using the basic dissolve transition for all of the clips. This transition aloud all the clips to smoothly glide together to look wonderful. Though we had a few challenges to overcome, Sophia and I worked together to get through it and edit together. Today was successful, we got most of our editing done and had enough time at the end of class to start blogging. Next class I plan to choose background music and do finishing touches on our commercial.
